Time really flies when you enjoy what you do, which explains why the past four years have been a blur. RiskScout was founded with a mission to leverage our regulatory, BSA officer, and fintech software developer backgrounds to combat financial crime and mitigate risk for financial institutions entering new markets. Our main driving force continues to be the pain points and feedback we hear from the vital “main street” financial institutions and the role they play in our economy and communities.
We understand how quickly organized crime is evolving in these same communities, and it’s largely funded through illicit financial services. Illegal drugs, human trafficking, fraud, and cybercrime have hugely affected our friends, neighbors, and the businesses that serve them. The rapid rate of change is causing challenges for the legacy technology systems many community banks and credit unions still depend on, as they were built decades ago for a different time and world.
